Slamrock Scuffle! CFDD vs. Confluence Crush!

CFDDvsCrushYour favorite home team will be bouting in their first WFTDA Apprentice League Bout, and season 3 home opener, against Metro East Illinois’ very own Confluence Crush! Mark your calendars for March 17th at 4:00pm! We will be playing on our home turf at Gibson’s Arena on S. Mock in Muncie. Get there early for a good seat. Doors open at 3:00pm. Tickets are available though Brown Paper Tickets @ http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/320133. You can also access the link from the home page under “Events.” Don’t want to order online? That’s ok too! Just pay your favorite dame $8 and either ask for a ticket OR ask to be added to will call. Tickets will also be available at the door for $10. We have group sale tickets available for $5 for groups of 5 people or more. Ball State students can also enjoy tickets for $5!

Since it’s St. Patty’s Day, and we want the Luck O’ the Irish with us, the bout theme is Slamrock Scuffle! Wear your green and Cornfed Blue’s, bring your lucky shamrock, and cheer for your favorite Dame!

Part of the proceeds from the bout will go to Kate’s Kart, a charity several of us hold near and dear to our hearts. Kate’s Kart is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing new books to hospitalized children. Founded in 2008 in Ft. Wayne in memory of Katherine Anne Layman, or “Baby Kate,” the organization has grown to include 16 Indi…ana hospitals, including Ball Memorial Hospital, which added a Kart in July 2009. Each child from newborns to teens has the opportunity to choose, and keep a new book off the Kart. They have handed out over 40,000 books to these special kids! Check out their Website for more information at http://www.kateskart.org/. Last year, organized by our own Debbie Darko, the Dames were able to raise money for new books at their bout against Twin Cities. Several girls from the team met at Books-A-Million and purchased books with the money raised from the bout. A few of the ladies even reached into their own pocketbooks and purchased a few extra books for the cause. These books were then donated and distributed by Kate’s Kart.

So there’s the bout info…what about the after party? Well it is St. Patty’s Day you know?! How about drinking some green beer with us? Big Shots Pub (right up the road from Gibson’s) will be hosting our after party with all the green beer you can stomach. If you come hungry they have a full menu too. Come join the fun!
