Cornfed Roller Derby (CFRD), will host the fourth annual Smalltown Smackdown roller derby tournament on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9, at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. This two-day event will kick off at 8 a.m. on Saturday with seven games that first day, lasting until 9:30 p.m. Sunday’s five games will begin at 9 a.m., and will end at the conclusion of the championship game, which begins at 5 p.m.
The Smalltown Smackdown: Cornament of Champions will feature Cornfed’s B-team, the Killer Kernels, along with six other B-level teams from four states, plus one borderless team. Joining Cornfed will be Athens Ohio Roller Derby (Athens, OH), BisMan Bombshellz (Bismarck, ND), Black Diaspora Roller Derby (Borderless), Cape Girardeau Roller Derby (Cape Girardeau, MO), Chicago-Style Roller Derby (Chicago, IL), Prairieland Punishers Roller Derby (Maroa, IL), and Rolla Rockets Roller Derby (Rolla, MO).
The tournament will take place at the Delaware County Fairgrounds Memorial Building, 210 N Wheeling Ave. Fans are encouraged to come and go throughout the weekend. Tickets will be available online at the Cornfed Square, or at the door for $25 per person for a weekend pass, $17 for Saturday only, or $15 for Sunday only. Children 10 and under are free with the purchase of an adult ticket (limit two children per paying adult).

A silent auction will be held throughout the weekend until Sunday at 11 a.m. with donated items going to the highest bidder. Cornfed and visiting team’s merchandise will also be available for purchase. A portion of all bout proceeds this season will benefit Red-Tail Conservancy.
