We are thrilled to be back on the track again, and we love when new people join. We can’t wait until our New Skater Clinic when we get to meet all new skaters.
If you are on the fence about joining us, we wanted to share with you why some of us joined derby. So we asked our skaters, both veterans, and new skaters: what made you join, and what is your favorite part of derby?

What made you join roller derby?
I saw the movie “Whip It” and it looked awesome, so I did some research and found out Muncie actually has a roller derby team! It looked like a great way to get active and release pent-up aggression (spoiler alert: it is). As soon as recruitment started again, I tried it out and quickly became obsessed. I even dragged my best friend and now we’re on the team together!
What is your favorite part about derby?
Everything, I can’t pick one thing. I’ve joined a wonderful community of misfits I never would have met otherwise who accept me for who I am. I get a great workout that makes me feel like I can do anything. Once I get rostered, I get to wear glitter and look cute while shoving people! [Legally of course].
How long have you been with Cornfed?
Since March.
