The Cornfed Derby Dames took on the Lake City Roller Dolls of Warsaw, IN in a well-matched bout on Sunday, September 11th. Both teams came ready to play and both teams battled for the lead in a close first half, leaving fans cheering for more than just the half time hula hoop contest.
Cornfed pulled ahead in the second half, using well-practiced strategy and good pack communication to hold back Warsaw’s jammers. Warsaw put out their best defense and hitters but it was not enough to hold back Cornfed’s jammers. With the advantage of a few power jams and a good defense, Cornfed pulled out a win with a score of 149-61.
